So, Why Photography?

This is something I have been asked a lot throughout my life and at first I wasn’t sure. It was just something I connected to as a child and young teenager, it got me out of the house and socialising, which definitely helped, with plenty of support from my family!

As the years have gone on it has been my one constant. From my A-levels to my degree, my love for photography and people have never changed. I went on to also gain my LRPS with the Royal Photographic Society and have spent over five years working as a professional photographer.

What Matter Most to Me

I found the idea of documenting part of someone’s life and preserving it for them to look back on has been something that has become something really important to me! I’m always looking through photos from my childhood and there’s a few images that really stand out as my favourites and they are the one’s which show the natural behaviour and connection that the people in them.

One of which is my nan and me, in their back garden lying on a blanket. You can’t even see my face as I’m on my back looking at her as she’s lying on her side looking at me and although it was taken on a trusty disposable camera, but you can feel the love and warmth through the photo and that’s what I want to capture for every family I meet.

With that photo in mind, choosing what to call my business was easier. Bethany for me and Josephine for her. By Bethany Josephine because every family story has more than one person in it.

Where You Can Find Me

So here I am a family photographer based in Berkshire, covering Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, Reading, Bracknell and the surrounding areas. I aim for my session to be nice and relaxed documenting your family as they are, led by you, mostly outdoor capturing the chaos and the joy that family brings.
